Member for South West Coast Denis Napthine has congratulated two south-west Victorian women on being inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll of Women.
Dr Napthine said the women were inducted at a ceremony at Parliament House on Tuesday night ahead of International Women's Day today.
He congratulated The Hon Judith Troeth, of Heywood, and Shirley Harlock, of Warrnambool, on this prestigious honour.
"As a Liberal Senator for Victoria, Judith was a vocal advocate for regional and rural Victoria.
"Judith has been an outstanding role model for women in the fields of health, leadership, agriculture and education," Dr Napthine said.
"I acknowledge Shirley Harlock for her strong contribution in rural Victoria and across the Australian dairy industry.
"Shirley has led development in dairy research and regulation, as well as taken leadership and representative roles advocating the importance of women's participation in decision making in all aspects of public
Dr Napthine said the Honour Roll provided ongoing recognition of the role of women and their success in making a difference for women and the broader community.
"These new inductees are joining a select group and placement on the Honour Roll ensures their contributions are recorded and made
available to inspire future generations.
"Having two prominent women from south-west Victoria selected
to be placed on the honour roll is a real feather in the cap for our region,"
